Product Description:
α-MEM liquid medium (phenol red-free) is a modified version of Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), containing amino acids, vitamins, and trace elements. Since it lacks proteins, lipids, or growth factors, 5–10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) or serum substitutes are typically required. This product uses a sodium bicarbonate buffer system (2.2 g/L) and requires a 5–10% CO₂ environment to maintain physiological pH.

Product Advantages:
There are many basal media products on the market, but their biological performance varies significantly, mainly due to differences in the quality of raw materials such as amino acids, vitamins, and trace elements.
This product uses strictly selected imported raw materials and precise quality control to ensure component purity and batch-to-batch consistency, fully meeting the nutritional and microenvironmental needs of cells.

Product Applications:
1.Suitable for various human and animal cell cultures.
2.For primary isolation and expansion of MSCs and mesenchymal stromal cells.
3.Suitable for phenol-red-free applications such as exosome extraction.
4.For media-sensitive cell types.

Q: Does this medium contain phenol red?
A: This product is available in two versions—with and without phenol red—so you can choose according to your specific needs.Q: What usually causes phenol red-containing medium to turn purple?
A: After the medium is opened, carbon dioxide escapes, causing the pH to rise, which turns the medium purple. If you only use small amounts, you can aliquot the medium into 50 mL centrifuge tubes. After each use, seal the tube opening with Parafilm to help prevent the color change. If the medium has already turned purple, place it in a culture dish or a vented flask and put it in the incubator for a few hours to see if the color returns to normal. If it does, the medium can still be used.Q: Is this medium a complete medium?
A: No. When using it, you need to add 5%–10% serum or a serum substitute. -
